Training livery space available now

I provide training livery for all from our stunning yard on the Devon/Somerset border. Whether you have a much loved family pony, an eventer that has hit a brick wall in its training, an ex-racehorse, a nappy hack, an untouched youngster, or you just want to reach new goals and improve your horsemanship, I have the experience and skills to help both you and your horse reach your aspirations and dreams.

Here at Pippsway we place a lot of emphasis on the groundwork, to ensure we build a really strong foundation for horse and rider. Connection and communication are key throughout the journey.

Read about two of our current training liveries below.

Luna (above) is a 4 year old Welsh mare, here for backing and training. Owner Cilla says:

“Luna will be a share for me and my daughter. She was previously backed for western riding which didn’t suit us, so we brought her to Pippsway for re-backing and training.

“I really like Pip’s style of working together with both horse and rider. The livery facilities here are amazing – Luna is loving living in a herd in a large field, and I have access to the coaching and support I need to ensure we reach our full potential.”

Valerie (above) has a history in showjumping and dressage. She joined the livery herd in January. Owner Sally says:

“A year after I had Val she became intermittently lame and was difficult to mount. It was found she had a hind suspensory issue and required an operation. After surgery she went to rehabilitate at a yard where unfortunately she had limited access to grass and spent most of her time stabled. I saw a real change in her behaviour. She became very stressed, she was difficult to hack out, and would start bronking whenever we went in the school.

“I visited Pippsway and knew this is where she needed to be – to de-stress and to live naturally, like horses should! I wanted her to enjoy life and I wanted to enjoy riding her again. Well Val loves it at Pippsway and so do I! She is back to being ridden and is improving with every ride.

“I really like the way Pip is no nonsense. She is intuitive and knows exactly when to push me and Val so we can make strides forward in the right direction.”
