NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP
2 DAY WORKSHOP
A 2 Day Workshop is an opportunity to work closely with your
own horse, to explore the way your relationship works and how
to develop it so you can achieve your goals and much greater
harmony.
Being in a supportive and focussed environment allows many shifts
to take place and both horses and handlers go home with more
direction, better levels of communication and connection and
a greater sense of purpose. In short both are happier.
It is impossible to give a fixed agenda as workshops create
an energy of their own from whoever happens to be attending.
We do, however, have a broad approach which ensures that everyone
gets the opportunity to work with their own issues. Everyone
at the event learns from each other’s experiences.
The workshop agenda is always developed by the attendees. Everyone
identifies their own issues and sets goals to address those
issues.
A personal goal might be able to canter an ex-racehorse downhill
towards home, another person’s might be to ride anywhere,
anytime without living in fear of meeting the Hunt, another
might be to load their horse easily, another might be to go
to a show, another to win a 3 day event or to ride in the Grand
National. The goal can be as ambitious or as modest as you please.
We work with up to 8 horse and handler combinations on a 2 day
workshop. You are very welcome to join a 2 Day workshop without
your own horse as much can be learnt by watching, listening
and sharing your own issues with like minded people.
Initially we meet without our horses and discuss our aims and
objectives, we discuss our feelings about them and what we want
to achieve from the workshop. A brief introduction to Natural Horsemanship principles is given as a grounding before we start
to work with the horses.
Pip will work with each horse and human combination to get a
picture of the relationship and how near the combination is
to achieving its goals.
The work maybe ridden or on the ground and this depends on what
the human feels is most comfortable for them.
Everyone else is asked to watch and listen to see what we can
see! After each session Pip will give her assessment of the
relationship and invite input from everyone on the workshop.
The sharing of experiences and insights greatly helps everyone
progress. One person’s fear might be another person’s
dream and we can connect those aspirations for mutual benefit.
Depending on the progress of the work with the horses –
and this is driven by the horses not the clock – there
will be a deeper Natural Horsemanship presentation at some
point during the day exploring and demonstrating the principles
and philosophies. This will stimulate further ideas and conversations
and often goes on after we have worked with the horses and into
the pub after that.
On Day 2 we work with the horses and handlers as much as we
can so that everyone gets to work as much as possible with Pip
whilst having a good understanding of Natural Horsemanship.
Each participant will get at least 2 sessions working with Pip
in depth and more if time allows.
We always work to music which everyone loves – so bring
the music you’d like to dance with your horse to.
At the end of the two days such a bond has developed amongst
the group that invariably a spontaneous Natural Horsemanship
Group is created – everyone swaps addresses and keeps
in touch after the event helping each other keep moving towards
their goals.
Pip will offer everyone guidelines for follow-up work at home
and will be available on the end of the phone or via email to
give ongoing support if necessary.
A 2 Day workshop is an adventure into your own and your horses
psyches. It’s exciting, rewarding and contributes greatly
to making us the horseperson we always wanted to be.
