Obsevations from Anna ( middle aged lady new to horses),
made in the first week of her ownership of her first horse
a stunning black 16.3hh gelding.
Whole new ball game tonight 8 large bull calves and one bull
in field next door. Much snorting and galloping from him !
Didn't dare go in with him, so spoke calmy to him from the
other side of the fence and gates (coward that I am) ! He
came up to me now and then. He seems calmer now.
He was funny to day, he was up at the top of the orchard
with me , while I was poo picking, the bull cavles came over,
he went to run off but when he saw I was not moveing he stopped
and watched me, (my heart was going as I have a fear of cows),
with this he became aggitated and started stamping his front
feet, with this the calves ran off, his face was a picture,
the calves came back and he stamped his foot again and again
they ran off, he then tryed it with the bull who also ran
from him. He is so pleased with himself, he is not scared
of them now he knows he can control them, amazing !
Sitting in orchard watching him moving the deer from spot
to spot !
He has not chased the cats since I told him not to as they
are my freinds and he follwed me around this morning. I feel
so privilaged. He is igroning me tonight. It's fab in the
orchard at dusk.
He is very happy and relaxed munching great variety of wild
herbs and grasses, not touch fly lick yet. Still ignoring
me any tips ? I have been in the orchard quite a lot. ( Pips
answer........ Go sit in the orchard with G & T and ignor
him and wait).
He is beautiful and seems alert and happy, plus he is not
ignoring me any more.
